Green Cycle Associates A.B., the holding company behind the Unibet.com team in 2007, has informed the International Cycling Union of its desire to be registered as a UCI Professional Continental Team for the 2007-2008 season.
A UCI ProTeam from the start of the 2007 season, Green Cycle Associates A.B. had not presented the financial part of its UCI ProTeam registration file by the deadline for the 2008 season. Consequently, it could not be registered and, in accordance with the regulations, the President of the UCI ProTour Council had requested that proceedings should start to withdraw the team's licence.
These proceedings were interrupted when Green Cycle Associates A.B. renounced its ProTour licence and expressed its desire to become a Professional Continental Team.
In response to the request of Green Cycle Associates A.B., the UCI will set a deadline for the company to submit an application in accordance with the regulations. The UCI shall proceed to register the team, or reject its application, on this basis.
