The Cofidis company has recently decided to extend its sponsorship, and the team can now look forward to a successful 2008 season in the UCI ProTour.

Last year was a season of transition for the French team but despite problems in the last 12 months, team manager Eric Boyer and chief directeur sportif Francis Van Londersele worked hard to instill a new spirit in the team.

Time trial specialist and track rider Bradley Wiggins has left the team but Nick Nuyens of Belgium, Frank Hoj of Denmark and Frenchman Maxime Monfort will again lead the team in the classics, while Sylvain Chavanel is the team’s best contender in stage races. Leonardo Duque is
the team’s sprinter and Ivan Parra Pinto, of Colombia, is strong in the mountains.

Team leader David Moncoutié was out of action for most of 2007 but the classy Frenchman has now made a fully recovery and is expected to be back to his best. He will again target the classics and stage victories in major UCI ProTour stage races.
