The Française des Jeux team is managed by former professional Marc Madiot, who motivates his riders with the same determination and passion that drove him to victory in Paris-Roubaix in 1991.
The team has lost Australia’s Bradley McGee and talented Swedish rider Thomas Lövkvist for the 2008 season but Madiot has replaced them with riders he insists are just as talented and will be even more successful. New faces in the white clover leaf jersey are Tom Stubbe and Gianni Meersman of Belgium, and neo-pro Yauheni Hutarovich.
Philippe Gilbert will take on a bigger role in 2008 as he enters the peak of his career. The French-speaking Belgian has made a name for himself by racing aggressively and making daring late attacks in many of the big UCI ProTour one-day races.
Sandy Casar will lead the Française des Jeux team in the longer stage races, while Sébastien Chavanel Carlos Da Cruz and Christophe Mengin will try to win the sprints with support from the rest of the team.
